The more I look at the festival list, the less I like it. It's not so bad, but it pales in comparison to previous festivals. Not one, but two musicals? The 170 minute My Fair Lady is too long, and it will really seem long in those Virginia theater seats. Luckily it will have an intermission.
Amy Adams and John Malkovich are "tentatively" scheduled to appear. As Han Solo would say, "I have a bad feeling about this."
Overall the list is just too new. I've been hoping that the festival would begin to tilt toward older films, but Ebert seems to be going in the opposite direction.
I'm sure that I will have a good time, so maybe I doth protest too much.
