I'm doing my picks differently this year, thanks to this breakdown of readers' votes. All of my winners come from the >46 column, aka who the geezers want to win. Why? The average age of Academy voters is up there. One estimate even put it at 57! With that in mind, and given the fact that one film in particular has the subject matter to appeal to the blue-hairs, it makes sense to base my picks on that >46 column. Any pick with an asterisk by it had greater than 40% from the geriatrics, and I would say that these selections are strongly favored. Also, I went out on my own for foreign language, where the voters had to actually view the films.
