Building Ain't Rocket Science

Here is an article about trends in house building. After spending the summer looking at houses, it is no surprise to me that builders are about ten years behind the times. Fireplaces are nice, but they leave you with little flexibility on where to place your furnishings. Many of the new constructions don't have a place to hang up a plasma, assuming you don't want to put it above the fireplace, which is sometimes too high. I distinctly remember one house where the thermostat was hung near the middle of the wall.
